Dr. Nicholas Misukanis is a historian of modern Europe whose research focuses on the social, political, and environmental histories of Europe in the twentieth century. His research has been supported by fellowships from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in Germany, the Wilson Center, and German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Dr. Misukanis has published in both German and English periodicals, peer reviewed journals, and edited volumes. He Is currently developing a book length project on nuclear energy, protest, and political legitimacy in postwar West Germany. He earned his PhD from the University of Maryland - College Park in 2025.
