Gary retired in 2014 as Senior Vice President of Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH), a position he had held since 2002.  Mr. Gilbert was also Chairman of the HPH Security, Safety and Environmental Committees.  Previously, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of FedEx Logistics from 1999 to 2001.  Mr. Gilbert served in a number of positions at the U.S. Ocean Carrier Sea-Land Service from 1976 to 1999, including President of Sea-Land Logistics, Vice President for Latin America, Vice President for Asia, Chairman of Asia Terminals Ltd., and Director of North American Operations.  Mr. Gilbert also served as an Officer on merchant and U.S. Naval vessels during the Vietnam conflict.  He currently sits on the Advisory Board of Decision Sciences. Additional he is on the Board of Directors of U.S. Sailing, the governing body for sailing in the United States. Mr. Gilbert received a B.S. from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and an M.S. from the State University of New York.
