Midshipmen Receive Sea Year Ribbons

KINGS POINT, N.Y., February 19, 2019 – This morning, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Superintendent, Rear Admiral Jack Buono, Academic Dean and Provost, Dr. John R. Ballard and Head, Department of Professional Development and Career Services (PD&CS), Captain Gene Albert awarded Sea Year Ribbons to Class of 2021B-Split midshipmen.

The following midshipmen earned an Honor Ribbon with Bronze Star for achieving a QPA of at least 3.50 for the first sea year, no failing grades, and above average (3.0) Shipboard Performance Evaluations, which have been entered in to PD&CS Shipboard Data Base at the time of the initial posting of Sea Project grades:

 Maxwell Montgomery, Tamer Perry and Kyle Pins, James, Arnold, Gavin Bradley, John Cairns, Shannon Fahsbender, Daniel Fry, Ivan Goretoy, John Higgins, Davis Holley

The following midshipmen earned an Honor Ribbon for achieving a QPA of at least 3.25 up to and including 3.49 for the first sea year, no failing grades, and above average (3.0) on Shipboard Performance Evaluations, which have been entered in to PD&CS Shipboard Data Base at the time of  the initial posting of Sea Project grades:

Kyle Buser, Connor Davis, James Deckert, Evans Edwards, Charles Franchina, Kathryn Kelley, Alina Montenegro, Emily Orski, Cody Peranich, Joseph Raab.
