The Peter J. Rackett ’61 Memorial Run is an annual Alumni and Midshipmen 5K event that brings together the Kings Point community for a day of spirited athletic camaraderie. The run is held in honor of Peter J. Rackett, Class of 1961, who served as the former Vice President of Alumni Affairs for the USMMA Alumni Association and Foundation. Rackett dedicated over 30 years of his time and talents to the alumni, Kings Point, its midshipmen, and its athletic programs. By participating in this memorial 5K, current Midshipmen and returning graduates promote regimental physical fitness while celebrating a prime example of lifelong support and dedication to the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
