Commencement – Class of 2026

-

Secretary Sean P. Duffy
U.S. Secretary of Transportation

A large group of joyous United States Merchant Marine Academy graduates in dress white and military uniforms celebrating their commencement by tossing their white caps high into the air. The graduates are cheering with their arms raised, standing on a blue turf field with white folding chairs and stadium seating visible in the background under an overcast sky.

The Commencement Ceremony at the United States Merchant Marine Academy is the proud culmination of a midshipman’s rigorous four-year journey at Kings Point. Traditionally held at Tomb Field, this milestone event celebrates graduating seniors as they receive their Bachelor of Science degrees, U.S. Coast Guard merchant marine officer licenses, and military commissions. Surrounded by family, alumni, and distinguished leaders, these newly minted officers officially begin their careers, ready to serve the nation’s maritime and strategic needs with the Academy's enduring motto of "Acta Non Verba" (Deeds Not Words) guiding their path.
