The United States Merchant Marine Academy joins the nation in celebrating Juneteenth. As an official federal holiday, this important date commemorates the historic emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. Today, the Kings Point community pauses its regular academic and regimental schedules to reflect on the significance of this day and the nation's ongoing pursuit of liberty and equality.
