The United States Merchant Marine Academy joins the nation in celebrating Juneteenth. As an official federal holiday, this important date commemorates the historic emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. Today, the Kings Point community pauses its regular academic and regimental schedules to reflect on the significance of this day and the nation's ongoing pursuit of liberty and equality. We encourage all Midshipmen, faculty, and staff to use this time off to honor our shared history and the enduring values of justice that unite us.
