Country Watch: Website to the World : provides information and data about each of the recognized countries of the world
Credo Academic Core : a research tool containing full-text encyclopedias, dictionaries, thesauri, quotations, and subject-specific titles, as well as images, audio files and videos. This is a good starting resource for help with brainstorming research topics.
EBSCO Databases : Information databases providing full-text access to journal articles, e-books and reports in a wide variety of general and specific academic subject areas including the humanities, business, environmental issues, health, science & technology, library and information science, and newspapers.
Flipster (EBSCO): Access popular magazines and on your computer or mobile device.
Gale Pages : Subjects covered include business, health, and literature, as well as international and U. S. newspapers.
Literature Resource Center: Includes criticism, overviews of specific works and biographies of authors in all disciplines

Journal of Commerce: Weekly online journal with information on commerce, international trade, logistics, trucking, breakbulk, ports, rail & intermodal, regulation & policy, technology, sailing schedules, container lines, ships & Shipbuilding, etc.
JSTOR Arts and Sciences I collection: is a database of archived digital journals in economics, history, political science, and sociology, as well as titles in ecology, mathematics, and statistics.
Knovel : Library of e-books on scientific and technical subjects.
Lloyds List: Current news on the shipping markets and shipping industry. (Access via EZ-Proxy for laptops/computers; for phones/tablets, register for an account while logged in on USMMA campus).
New York Times : Register here to access the digital newspaper. You will be prompted to search for the school name. Type in United States Merchant Marine Academy. You will be asked to enter your first and last name, USMMA e-mail address, and indicate whether you are a student, faculty member, or staff member. Once you've registered, you can access the paper on all your devices. Next, set up your access to your New York Times InEducation account, here. Use the same USMMA e-mail address and password for your InEducation account.
Nexis Uni: encompasses relevant business, financial, and company news and research; country information; law review journals; local and federal laws and regulations, as well as the court cases and rulings (including The American Maritime Cases) that tie everything together
Oxford English Dictionary (OED) : the recognized authoritative source on the English language including definitions, pronunciations, and etymologies of words used throughout the English-speaking world.
Project Muse Humanities Journal Collection: The collection provides peer-reviewed research journals in the humanities and social sciences. Of the new titles added to MUSE each year, the best of those with a clear humanities focus are added to this collection.
ProQuest: Includes ProQuest Central Essentials and the ABI/Inform collection. ProQuest Central Essentials includes 12 databases in the areas of the arts & sciences, business, social sciences, and education, as well as US major national and regional newspapers. The ABI/Inform collection includes information on business, management, and trade from 1971 - present.
Regs4Ships: Complete listing for maritime regulations laws and treaties both national and international.; Indexed regulations for maritime services including acts for flag vessels, pertinent Code of Federal Regulations, navigation and inspection information, foreign vessel rules, documents of the International Maritime Organization, etc.
