Mission

The Mission of the Department of Waterfront Activities is to promote
midshipmen leadership training and professional development
through the use of waterfront resources.

This is accomplished by:

• Providing and maintaining a high quality waterfront facility capable of meeting the needs of midshipmen training, as well as competitive and recreational programs;
• Providing facilities and vessels to assist the Departments of Marine Transportation and Marine Engineering in meeting their curricular objectives;
• Promoting the Academy and the maritime transportation industry through public relations efforts;
• Allowing midshipmen to assume the highest possible levels of responsibility as vessel skippers, crewmembers and midshipmen officers.
