Matt assumed Head Coaching duties in June 2005, after serving two years as Assistant Coach. He brings a variety of sailing experience to King’s Point. A 2003 graduate of Old Dominion University, Matt was a member of the #1 ranked Sailing team his senior year which finished 4th in the Coed Dinghy National Championships in Honolulu, Hawaii. His senior year Matt went on to finish 3rd in B-division at the Coed Dinghy National Championships. Matt was awarded All-American honors in his senior season as he won numerous events throughout the year. Matt has spent much of his time away from college sailing fine tuning both his fleet and team racing skills in the Vanguard-15 class. In 2001 and 2002 Matt sailed to a 2nd place finish in the Buzzards Bay Regatta in Vanguard-15’s, as well as a 3rd place showing in the 2003 Vanguard-15 Mid-Winters. Matt currently resides in Huntington, NY.

Charles joins the waterfront staff in the spring of 2007, after a great collegiate tenure at Old Dominion University. Charles brings a wealth of knowledge to Kings Point having sailed on Old Dominion’s top team for two years. In his senior season Charles sailed A division for ODU winning his division at the War Memorial Regatta and placing fifth at ACC’s. Competing abroad Charles finished fourth at Cowes Youth Week match racing in Sonars off the Isle of Wight, England. He also represented ICSA at the University World Match Racing Championship held in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
Charles continues his sailing career competing in both fleet and team racing. In the Vanguard 15 class Charles won the 2006 National Championship and finished second in the 2007 US Team Racing Midwinter Championship. Originally from Arlington, Texas, Charles currently resides in Garden City, NY
