Steelworker (SW) Rate Training
Description:
This course is designed for Naval Reservists that are looking to advance within the SW rate.  This two week course will include learning in a classroom environment as well as hands on practical training in the welding laboratory.  The topics of study include:
  1. Properties and uses of metals
  2. Basic heat treatment
  3. Introduction to welding
  4. Gas cutting
  5. Gas welding
  6. Soldering, brazing, braze welding, and wearfacing
  7. Shielded metal-arc welding and wearfacing
  8. Gas shielded-arc welding
  9. Advancement exam preparation
