Hull Technician (HT) Rate Training

Description:
This course is designed for Naval Reservists that are looking to advance within the HT rate. This two week course will include learning in a classroom environment as well as hands on practical training in the welding laboratory. The topics of study include:

Safety
Ship Repair
Woodworking cuts and joints
Small boat repair and deck coverings
Tools and equipment
Metallurgy
Introduction to welding and cutting
Oxyacetylene cutting and welding
Brazing and braze welding
Metal-arc welding and cutting
Nondestructive tests and inspection of welds
Sheet metal layout and fabrication
Structural steel fabrication
Shop mathematics
Piping systems
Piping system repairs
Advancement exam preparation
