In the early afternoon on both Friday and
Saturday, the band was slated to perform at the Expo Quebec,
a local fair taking place that weekend. The band's Friday
performance was excellent, thrilling both locals and tourists
alike. However, the Saturday performance was not to be. Heavy
rainstorms moved through the area in the afternoon, leaving
the festival organizers no choice but to call off the outdoor
events for the afternoon.
After assembling behind the scenes, the band
marched out onto the main thoroughfare of the parade. Note
the carnival atmosphere surrounding the band! Parents clapped
along to old favorites such as the Slaves Chorus of Nabucco
while little kids bobbed their heads to the beat of the drums.
Three local guest conductors made a guest
appearance during the number "Instant Concert,"
a lively piece that combines many familiar tunes into one
catch medly that always leaves the crowd eager for more. |
