

The Department
of Public Safety is responsible for all aspects of campus
safety and security. The Academy's security force
is comprised of federal police officers and federal security
guards, supplemented by contract personnel as necessary.
The force mans the gatehouse on Steamboat Road, and provides
roving patrols on foot, on bicycles, and in marked and
unmarked vehicles.
The
federal officers and guards of the Department of Public
Safety have full arrest authority, and issue federal summonses
for moving and non-moving traffic violations. The
Department also conducts all campus criminal investigations,
and manages a fire safety program with regular drills
for all buildings and facilities. The Academy has
mutual-aid agreements with the police and fire departments
of the Village of Kings Point and Nassau County.
