The USMMA Personnel Office supports the
mission of the Academy by providing accurate, reliable
and courteous human resources services to both internal
and external customers. The Office supports the
Department
of Transportation's Human Capital initiatives, and
assists managers and employees in providing an environment
in which every individual is treated with respect and
encouraged to work and develop to their full potential.
The Academy is one of the world’s foremost
institutions in the field of maritime education.
Located on 81 acres of waterfront land, it includes
many facilities and organizations available to faculty
and staff. Among these are included:
A Library
A Ship’s Service store
Athletic and fitness facilities including a
weight room and fitness center, running track,
tennis courts, and indoor and outdoor swimming
pools
