Biography

Jeff Taffet is a scholar of United States international history. In 2007 he published Foreign Aid as Foreign Policy: The Alliance for Progress in Latin America (Routledge). The book explores how the Kennedy and Johnson administrations used foreign aid to advance their larger political aims in Latin America. Dr. Taffet continues to write about Cold War issues in Latin America during the 1960s, but he has also begun researching the international diplomacy of New York City's municipal leaders from the 1950s to the 1970s. Along with his wife and two sons, Dr. Taffet lives in southern Westchester county. In his spare time he enjoys running and grading papers.
